Shopify's new app to increase conversion
Modern e. the trade customer expects to know all the information about the product before purchasing it. Whether it's running shoes, sweatpants, a couch, or a phone, strong and detailed product descriptions are one way you can convey the most important information about a product and answer any questions you may have.
But increasingly, rich media that visually highlights all the variations of your products is a critical component of the conversion process—especially for products that need a visual accent for colors, materials, or dimensions. In addition, your customers want to conveniently view all this rich product information specific to each product variant on a single product information page (DPP - detailed product page).
Let's say you own a clothing store and your best-selling shorts come in 8 colors, but you only highlight one image of each color on the shorts product listing page. A customer interested in ice blue won't be able to see multiple views and angles of the blue shorts, making them much less likely to convert. This is a huge missed opportunity to increase sales.
Shopify has created Shopify Combined Listings, an app exclusively for merchants. With it, you can more easily sell products that have several options to choose from, which are best presented visually. With Combined Listings, merchants who sell products in multiple colors, materials, or dimensions can now more easily provide a better, higher-converting experience to their customers.
What is the Shopify Combined Ads Program?
What is the Shopify Combined Ads Program?
The Shopify Combined Listings app is a free app created by Shopify exclusively for Shopify Plus merchants. It allows merchants to create a product listing that combines all the different product variants into one centralized product listing. Each variation can have its own image carousel, descriptive URL, and ad controls.
Before Shopify Combined Listings, Shopify merchants who wanted to visually display all product options in one product listing typically chose to create each individual option as a separate product in Shopify. They then did custom work to combine the products into a single PDP. This process is often resource-intensive, wasting time, effort and money that could be better spent elsewhere. Now with Shopify Combined Listings, we've made this process simple and seamless, so you can quickly start creating combined listings for your product variants - with no extra work.
Merchants using Shopify Combined Listings can offer a more compelling and converting customer experience. One that meets the expectations of customers so that they can have complete confidence in their purchase.
Why should I use the Shopify Combined Listings app?
Whether you're just starting out with a product that comes in multiple variations from a single DPP, or you've been customizing for years to offer this kind of customer experience, here are a few reasons why you should consider the Shopify Combined Listings app.
Offers a better shopping experience
Each product variant you want to list can be highlighted with a specific name, product description and image gallery. This way, your customers can see exactly what they're going to buy, making them more likely to open up. In addition to this more visual experience for shoppers, it's also more convenient. Customers will not have to jump between multiple DPPs to view each product variant. Instead, they can view all options from just one DPP.
Showcase each variant of your product in the best possible light
Create as much information as possible about your product with a custom title, product description, and a multimedia carousel with multiple product images and videos for each product variant's specific colors, patterns, or dimensions.
Manage publishing at the variant level
For Shopify merchants who sell certain colors or materials seasonally, the only option historically has been to delete the option entirely and add it back later. With combo listings, you can easily remove or re-post certain variations in your combo list as needed, saving you the time and energy that was previously spent re-creating product variations as the seasons change.
Improve your marketing and SEO with descriptive URLs
With Shopify Combined Listings, we set descriptive URLs at the options level. This means that each color scheme or style will have its own unique URL to clearly identify specific products for marketing campaigns, link sharing and maximum SEO impact.
Easy to operate and maintain
Because Combined Listings is an app built and managed by Shopify, you don't have to waste time and money to build and maintain a custom solution to market your products, which can come in many variations. Plus, you'll benefit from continuous improvements to the Combined Listings app as Shopify adds new features and support.
How Shopify Combo Lists Work
Here's how to use Shopify combos. After downloading and installing the app. Getting started is quick and easy.
Step 1: Create product variants for your combo list
Before creating your first merged list, you'll need to create products to represent the individual variations of your merged listings in the Shopify admin page "Products". For example, before creating a combined listing for your best-selling pair of shorts, you'll need to create each colorway as a separate product in the Shopify admin. If you are already a Shopify merchant, you may have already created these products, so you can skip step 1.
Step 2: Create your first general list
Open the Shopify Combo Ads app and create your first combo ad. Give the combo list a name and add the products you created in step 1.
Next, you can fill out the information about your combo listing product page, including a description and a media gallery, which helps you visualize the combo listing as a whole, as each individual option will have its own gallery that will also be displayed.
You can then set a specific URL to be used as the canonical URL for all your products to avoid duplication in Google's ranking system. You can set each individual option in the combo box to have its own special descriptive URL, for example www.yourstorename/products/zro-boardshort, which is useful for marketing and SEO purposes .
You will be able to directly see all the individual products that are part of your combo listing in the combo listings card.
Below, you'll be able to view a list of your product options, where you can click on each option to add a specific title, description, and media gallery.
Shopify combo listings customer experience
Let's take a look at what the combined list will look like for your customers.
When a customer clicks on a syndicated listing, they'll be taken to the syndicated listing's product page, which by default displays the title, description, and media gallery you've set to represent your entire syndicated listing. It also selects a specific variant of your choice if you want to highlight the best selling variants.
As the customer clicks on each of the individual options, the title, description, media gallery, and descriptive URL automatically change to highlight the appropriate option without reloading the page.
Increase conversion with Shopify combo listings
By offering a more visual and compelling customer experience, you can empower buyers to imagine their life with your product and increase conversion.
